SYTYCD Season 6 - Top 8 Results
It’s time for another round of eliminations- and after this one is over, we’ll know who’s in next week’s finale. We’ll also see performances from Kris Allen and the Wonder Girls tonight.
The Sonya Tayeh group routine is not one of our favorites this season. It’s okay, but we’re sort of on the fence. We find the weirdness a bit overwhelming.
After a mention of Samantha Ronson’s remixes for this week (again, why do we care?) the guys are called to the stage for their results. The bottom two are Legacy and Ryan, which means Russell and Jakob are in the finale.
Time to learn the fate of the girls. Kathryn and Ashleigh are safe, leaving Ellenore and Mollee in the bottom four. We’re annoyed.
Next, the Wonder Girls perform. Did we miss the memo that said we’re supposed to care? Aside from Ashlee Simpson, this is the most unconvincing display of obvious lipsyncing we’ve ever seen. Half the time, their lips aren’t even moving when they’re “singing.” Fail. But at least we’re then treated to some footage of the top 8 exchanging Christmas gifts. It’s cute and festive and heals the pain of that terrible song… a little.
Ratings for the solos:
Legacy: 7/10
Ellenore: 8/10
Ryan: 7/10
Mollee: 8/10
Kris Allen’s performance of “Live Like We’re Dying” leaves us a little cold. But at least we’ve finally figured out what we dislike about this song- it’s so monotonous! We still really wish something else had been chosen for his first single.
So the moment of truth has arrived- time to find out who’s in the finale. Mollee is eliminated… and so is Legacy. We’re crushed.
Next week, the season comes to a close with the top 6 performing in the finale.
